How to use Taobao and 1688 in English

Neither site has an official English version — they're built for shoppers inside China. You can still browse them in English, but ordering from abroad needs a workaround.

• Translate the page. In Chrome or Edge, right-click and choose Translate to English (Safari: the translate icon in the address bar). This rewrites titles, specs, and prices well enough to compare — treat it as approximate for variants and materials.
• Search by image, not keywords. Product names are in Chinese, so typing English rarely works. Click the camera icon in the search bar and upload a screenshot — 1688 surfaces the factory behind an AliExpress or Taobao listing, usually cheaper.
• Why you still can't check out. Registration needs a Chinese mobile number, payment is Alipay or Chinese cards only, and sellers ship within mainland China only. So translation lets you browse, but a buyer in India can't complete the order or get it delivered.

How it works

This lane is full-service only — there's no practical "shop yourself" option for Taobao or 1688 unless you read Chinese and have a Chinese payment method.

1. Find the listing. Browse Taobao or 1688 in your browser (Chrome auto-translate works for casual browsing). Copy the product URL.
2. Send us the link. Drop URLs on our order page with notes on color, size, model, or quantity. Tell us what you actually want — we'll vet the listing and confirm specs in Chinese with the seller.
3. Get a quote. We come back with all-in pricing: product cost (RMB → your currency), our service fee, freight, customs, doorstep delivery to India. Approve, pay locally.
4. We buy and consolidate. We pay the seller in RMB, receive at our China warehouse, photograph each parcel for QC, and consolidate.

Common questions

Can I shop Taobao myself? Technically yes if you read Chinese, have a Chinese phone for verification, and have a Chinese payment method (Alipay/UnionPay). For most foreign customers, "we shop for you" is the only practical path.

How long do you hold parcels? 90 days free at our China warehouse.

What if a seller ships the wrong product? We catch it during warehouse QC (photographs taken on receipt). We dispute with the seller in Chinese on your behalf.

Can you negotiate prices? On 1688 yes, especially for wholesale-quantity orders. On Taobao retail listings, prices are usually fixed but sellers occasionally honor coupon codes — we'll ask.

Counterfeit goods? We won't ship items we can identify as counterfeit. Borderline cases get flagged before forwarding for your decision.
