Use a regular quote request when you want a specific item now, on your own timeline. Use a group-buy pool when the item is offered as a pool and you are happy to wait for it to fill in exchange for a lower price — the saving comes from sharing one shipment's freight and customs across everyone. If you need it fast, a regular quote is the better choice.
