Ubuy is a US-based reseller — they buy from Amazon, Walmart, and other US retailers, then resell to international shoppers at marked-up prices. The convenience is real (one English-language site, one card transaction) but the markup is steep: 40–60% above source pricing on most products, plus shipping.
For most things, going direct through a forwarding service like ours saves substantially. We don't have a US warehouse, but most products on Ubuy are also available on Indian, Chinese, or Japanese platforms — often at lower base prices than Ubuy's "source" because the original stores haven't been resold.
The Ubuy markup math
Real example: a skincare serum that retails for $25 on Amazon US. On Ubuy, the same product is listed at $42 — a 68% markup before shipping. Add Ubuy's $18 shipping and you're at $60 landed, before duty.
Same product on Amazon India is ~$25 (₹2,100). Through us, total landed cost is ~$31 — about half of Ubuy's price. Same product, similar transit time, no markup.
The pattern repeats across categories. Electronics, skincare, fashion, accessories — anything that has a global manufacturer is usually cheaper at the source than at a US reseller's margin.
When Ubuy makes sense
Two narrow cases:
- Genuinely US-only products — niche American brands, US-spec electronics, US-only health and supplement lines that don't ship through Amazon Global. We don't currently handle these
- You want one English-language site and one card transaction — and you're willing to pay 40–60% more for that convenience
For everything else, direct shopping saves real money.

- From India — Flipkart, Amazon India, Myntra for fashion, electronics, home, baby
- From China — AliExpress, Taobao, 1688 for gadgets, accessories, hobby gear at factory prices
- From Japan — Rakuten, Amazon Japan for authentic skincare, audio, anime, niche electronics

- For "US Amazon" products specifically, check Amazon India first — same SKU, lower price, faster forwarding
- Consolidation is where the real savings live. Three Ubuy orders shipped separately cost much more than three iWishBag orders combined into one parcel
- For genuinely US-only items, we're working on a US address. For now, those are the cases where Ubuy's convenience may justify the premium
