Japan has the cleanest, most reliable e-commerce in Asia — but most of it is Japanese-only and many sites refuse foreign cards. We solve both. You get a free Japanese address to use as your delivery, or we buy on your behalf in Japanese.

Either way, parcels land at our Japan warehouse, get consolidated, and ship to Nepal in 10–21 days by air.

Two ways to do this

Shop yourself. Use your free iWishBag Japan address at Amazon Japan, Rakuten, Uniqlo Japan, or any Japanese store. Pay them directly using a card that works in Japan. We receive the parcel, you settle international forwarding, and we deliver to Nepal. Best when you can navigate Japanese checkout and have a card that's accepted.

Send us the links. Drop URLs on our order page. We give you one quote covering everything — product, our service fee, freight, customs, doorstep delivery in Nepal. We pay sellers in JPY using our Japan rails, handle Japanese-only checkout flows, and translate any seller communication. Best for almost everything except Amazon Japan (which now accepts more foreign cards).

What Japan does best

Japan exports four categories particularly well to Nepal:

  • Stationery and craft supplies — Muji, Mark's, Pilot, Kokuyo. Quality that doesn't exist anywhere else
  • Skincare and cosmetics — drugstore brands (DHC, Hada Labo, Cezanne) at Japanese pricing
  • Fashion — Uniqlo (especially HEATTECH), Beams, smaller streetwear brands not exported
  • Hobby and collectibles — anime figures, model kits, vintage manga. Most of the world's deepest catalog
  • Electronics accessories — niche audio gear, photography accessories, durable phone cases

Big appliances and large electronics are usually better sourced from China or India — Japan's premium pricing rarely beats consolidated freight from cheaper origins.

The language and payment barrier

Japan's e-commerce sites split roughly:

Japanese-onlyEnglish supported
RakutenMostly JapaneseLimited English version
Yahoo! ShoppingJapanese-onlyNone
Amazon JapanJapanese defaultEnglish UI available
Uniqlo JapanJapanese-onlyNone
MercariJapanese-onlyNone
ZOZOTOWNJapanese-onlyNone

Most Japanese sites refuse foreign credit cards. Even Amazon Japan rejects roughly half of foreign cards. If your card gets declined, "we shop for you" is the path — we use Japanese rails on your behalf.

Duties and customs

Nepal levies customs duty on Japanese imports based on HS code, declared value, and category. We pre-calculate this in your quote — landed cost is fixed before you pay.

Higher-rate categories on this lane:

  • Cosmetics and skincare — duty plus VAT, often 40%+
  • Alcohol-based fragrance — restricted by volume; we'll flag if your order exceeds limits
  • Branded fashion — duty plus VAT, typically 25–35%
  • Electronics over a certain value — duty plus VAT, typically 13–18%

For high-value items (over $500), keep the original Japanese invoice — Nepal customs occasionally asks for verification.

Worth knowing before you order

  • Amazon Japan often beats Rakuten on the same product. Check both before placing — pricing differences can be 10–20%
  • Uniqlo Japan's "innerwear" line (HEATTECH, AIRism) is significantly better quality than Uniqlo elsewhere
  • For anime figures, "Pre-order" timelines are usually 2–6 months. Coordinate with us before paying — we hold pre-orders at our warehouse until release
  • Japanese cosmetics are often regulated tighter than Indian/Chinese — check product expiry dates before forwarding
  • Yahoo! Auctions and Mercari are second-hand markets. Use "we shop for you" — bidding requires Japanese phone verification
  • Most Japanese sellers ship within 1–3 days domestically. Aggregate over a week or two before triggering international forwarding

Common questions

Will my foreign card work on Japanese sites? Sometimes. Amazon Japan accepts more international cards than Rakuten or Yahoo Shopping. If your card fails, switch to "we shop for you" — same final outcome.

Do I need a Japanese phone number? For "shop yourself" on Yahoo Auctions or Mercari, yes — and that's a separate hurdle. For most other sites, no. For "we shop for you," no — we use ours.

How long do parcels sit at the Japan warehouse? 90 days free. Useful when you're stacking pre-orders or seasonal sales.

Can I combine Japan with China or India orders? Not on the same shipment — different origin warehouses. But we can time the deliveries so multiple shipments arrive together in Nepal.

What about returns? Japanese sellers usually have 7–14 day return windows. Tell us before international forwarding leaves our warehouse — we can return on your behalf.
